ID please

    I found this in my tank. Is it a mantis shrimp? If not what could it be?

    how small is that?

    it s a copepod - small crustaceans that live in saltwater/freshwater. they good indicator that your tank is healthy, wealthy and wise:)

    Amphipod. Harmless and provide a source of food for certain fish

    do they molt like shrimp

    Agreed.

    I think they do, I often see what looks like their molted skin floating around in my refugium, it looks very transparent so I would assume it is from a molt.

    thanks, im setting up a 20 gal long fuge for my 38 gal tank. I thought it was mantis shrimps beacuse shrimps molt and the size. well if there good i will stop killing them
