    Hey Guys n gals, a friend of mine in Malaysia emailed these pic's to me, anyone seen this before?

    there was a story on them on reefbilders
    Thy live 400m under the sea
    Thy only go up when thy go to die
    There was one collected in japan the other dag only lasted les than a day

    Surely if they live 400m under the sea, their eyes should be much larger, same as the other fish living at that depth??

    Rare encounters with divers and accidental catches have supplied what little is known of oarfish behavior and ecology. Apparently solitary animals, oarfish may frequent significant depths up to 1,000 metres (3,300 ft).

    Thanks Mnd, I did read up on them, just that fish living at those depths normally have large eyes
