Apologies for the photos, the plant in front is not very clear, but it looks to all intend and purpose like a weed with little leaves. Is this good or bad?

I assume that they eat the stuff. Only problem is I think my tank may be a bit small for a tang. Only about 230litre. Are there tangs that will do in this size tank?

tank is a bit small. Unless you give the rock to a friend with a bigger tank and tanks for cleaning. After a week you take it back.

Thank you for the link. I already have one though, and have not seen it chow it yet.

    Thank you riaan,
thats an idea, will see what I can do. From the replies it seems that I have to get rid of it. Are they pests? So far it seems quite slow growing.

You should have joy with a urchin or maybe a sea hare.

Halimeda will suck up the Ca & Mg so keep an eye on the levels.

I have several types of macro & kelp in my tank & it chows Mg & Ca.

I had a yellow tang in my standard 3ft which was only 90l. The skimmer went crazy but other than that my tang was super healthy.

unless you are planning to upgrade, or sell the fish soon. Do not put a tang in such a small tank. It will grow up.

Yeah I had him for just over a year then I could see he was getting a bit too big and had to sell.

Will do so! Also have some other macro algae. Actually very fascinating, loving this hobby!

I am planning to upgrade, but will only get one once I have.

Thank you for all the feedback guys, much appreciated!
