ID on tang

    just for the fun of it, anyone id this tang. Its the juv of the species ....

    out of intrest I found him in a LFS, but alreday sold. No surprise there, but he went for R2500 or so.

    when i first looked at it i thought maybe a really young chevron. not sure though. judging by your reply to jbs answer you know the actual answer? maybe a pacific blue surgeon?

    It is an atlantic blue tang - acanthurus coeruleus;) they grow over 10 inches long btw:)

    yay for me:) yeah they are big boys hey. one of the tangs i looked at for the tank but wasn't so sure about its size:) thanks for the id fun there crispy

    Nice fish, but need a big tank. I had one and as soon as it was bigger than my purple and yellow tangs, it beat the @@@@ out of them. Gave it to a mate with a 10' system. Settled in there much better.

    even that fella who was little was showing aggresion in the LFS so i figured they were a little upity with tank mates
