Id on crab needed

    I brought some frags over the weekend and in the one piece of LR i found a small crab. Personally i think its a younge mithrax crab, but im not absolutley certain and ive never had one before.

    He's got pretty sharp pincers and as I have slow sleepy fish deep in the reef i want to make sure first. For now he is happy in my sump:)

    that back legs are also fairly hairy, which is what leads me to think of mithrax

    the pincers look wrong, everything else leads to mithrax/emerald crabs
    here you can see they are rounded at the end

    Does kinda look like a Mithrax. Perhaps sump it and see if it eats macroalgae?

    grape calpura and the like? my sumps as barren as a desert of algae, but i'll drop some in and see

    Yep. Most pest crabs won't be too fond of macros, but Mithrax should go straight for em.

    i'll test him out and if he likes it I have a planted nano he can live in:)
