ID on coral

    Hi guys, can you please ID this green coral. Unfortunately took pic just as LFS was closing. Guy said it was a lemon coral which IE doesn't pick up. possibly a goniopora? tnx

    That is an Alveopora.

    No wait...I was wrong. 24 tentacles means it's Goniopora. Just not one of the usual species and also has the knobbly tentacles like Alveopora.

    Eish. Too early..... But goni it is. As LB said, 24 tentacles on Goni and 12 on alveopora. I counted the middle polyp and missed the more obvious ones on the outside.

    Goni - One of the harder to keep corals. Just read up on it a lot

    I have been looking for a small Alveopora for a while, but they seam to be scares, have not seen one in Cape Town for ever?
