    Please can someone help with an ID of the red "plant" on the rock, and whether its good or bad to have. Thanks

    Seems to be "Red bush" macro algae very desirable, good for eliminating nitrates, hermits may eat it though....if you don't have too much nutrients it will be easy to manage, Got some in my tank but my urchin loves it "unfortunately".

    Never seen that before looks very nice. Pity will get eaten very soon though, most clean up crews love stuf f like that

    Some shops even sell it, if you look at live aquaria on the web you can buy it on frag plugs, I'm sure you can frag it.

    Red macro algae, I think the closest resemblance might be a type of "Rhodophyte", do a google search on "red marine macro algae"
    you will find some spectacular specimens, if you have an urchin this will disappear eventually.
