    Hi gMAN - the common name for this anemone, is a "LTA (Long tentacle) Sand Anemone".

    The scientific name is: Macrodactyla doreensis

    This anemone comes in the color that you have, as well as in red (it is also called a "Red base anemone")....

    jacques is spot on here.

    gMan just make sure you have a fairly thick layer of substrate for him to anchor his foot in, and not to much current. I see he is starting to get a bit of colour back, how long have you had him?

    Thanks for that JB
    @ Frans
    It's just the skin ;)
    @flip
    he's with me going on 4 months
    I know Anemone (Deborah) is gonna have a go at me for keeping 2 different species of nennies but i didn't know any better when I introduced the carpet nennie last month. they both are doing well and doesn't seem like any warfare going on. LTA is on the far left & carpet is more or less in the centre. If by keeping the 2 will cause a problem, is anybody willing to swop the LTA for WHY?

    i dont think Deborah will care either way, Brenda might be a little upset that you got your name wrong and is more likely to be upset by you buying things that yopu havent researched properly first. The importance of knowing the basics about the different LS you keep really cant be stressed enough, ignorance isnt really a good excuse:p

    but that nennie does look like its doing ok, how big is the tank and how far apart is the carpet and the LTA? is the carpet also on the substrate? you may have issues with them not fitting in available substrate, you definatley do not want them to meet for tea in the centre of the tank:whistling:

    Crisp, my tank is a 4ft, carpet is attached to base of LR quite close to substrate, they about 40cm apart & have been in those locations for a while...

    Hey Gman

    Best to keep only one nennie in a 4ft....you are going to loose one in the long run.

    Chemical warfare....i hope you are running carbon.

    Decide which nennie to keep and sell the other one off;)

    gMan, I skimmed through your 4ft tank build thread. Your tank hasn't been running long enough to keep either anemone. Also your lighting isn't enough to support these anemoens. The anemone above already looks as if it is stretching towards the light.
