Sadly it's a pest. :(.. Joe's Juice or Aiptasia X will get rid of it.

Hi gMAN - this is indeed a type anemone. Commonly called "glass anemone" or our worst nightmare: Aptaisia.

This is a real pest which starts to take over our tanks. So - please do not explicitly feed it.

As Mouse suggested - try and remove this aptaisia as soon as possible.... (using either strong kalkwasser concentrate, vinegar, or lemon juice. You might need quite a few tries before you get it dead.
You can also try Joe's Juice (expensive) or Aptaisia-X....

    Good luck.

Usually with a syringe - the meds are / should be in a paste form.

Kalkwasser is slaked lime which is available at chemists - scientific name: calcium hydroxide - a white powder...

Hey, hey Jacques, right you are, I forgot to mention the other cheaper products until I'd hit the reply :)

gMan, get yourself a syringe with needle from the pharmacy and inject the Aiptasia right through the mouth with the lemon juice / etc.

The great thing about Aiptasia X is that you don't have to physically spear (inject) the thing, as long as you cover it's "face", you should be good - helpful if you have a really deep tank like mine and can't quite reach to poking it....

I'd keep it under control as soon as you can before it goes wild and there's hundreds of them.

all good info, but just a side note, if i remember correctly dont dose to much with the "homemade" remedies as it can affect the PH.

Get rid of them asap starts with 3 and ends with three hundred and thirty three of them.

I use (or used) AiptasiaX it worked for me only zapped them once and they didnt come back... and its safe to use in the tank...
