    i had a power failure last week and when the power was restored I found a couple of these guys on my glass?

    Any idea what it could be (I think it might be jellyfish!?!?!?)

    Moves the same way as jellies but not sure

    Hi CDuPreez - these are hydroids..... Leave them be - these types will not and cannot cause any problems in your tank...

    LOL Boendoe! I have seen a "dogface puffer" - so - perhaps CDuPreez should blow up the face a bit - then we have a dogface puffer! ;) LOL!

    poor little rat, i mean dog. i swear that things eyes are bigger than its ears! :)

    its fun having different things pop up in tanks hey:) leave those fellas be, but watch if there are different types of hydroids, and post a pic if you can :)

    Thanks for the feedback guys, I have about 50 - 70 of them in my tank. What do they feed on?

    Hi CDuPreez - they are very specialist feeders. They feed on certain diatoms and certain tiny organic compounds. Our tanks can rarely ever sustain them.
    They WILL most likely die out.
