Look like Colonial hydroids, possibly Myrionema hydroids, I have the same thing on a piece of rock, they are considered to be a pest as apparently they can be quite invasive and spread very quickly, can sting corals and clams, almost like a miniature form of aiptasia really, the ones I have on a rock are isolated and not touching anything else as I think they look pretty cool :p, I haven't really looked into methods of controlling them, think I may have read something about nutrient control being important.

Damn!!! got these on the back of my chalice (on the rock portion), seem to mind their own business and no damage to the chalice visible. @viper357 should I remove these guys?

i dunked the infected rock in boiling water (avoiding the other coral on the rock) and brushed them off

The general consensus seems to be yes as they are considered to be a pest and sting other corals. I have no idea how to remove them though, might need to do some googling on that if nobody else chimes in.

hmmmmm....yeah I don't think that would be an option. Has anybody had any negative effects from leaving these guys in their systems?

I think I have these. Do they glow green under the blue lights? I've been trying to use Astplacia X, but it's not working, and the rock has other things on it; so I don't want to take it out of the water. Anything else I can do to get them out of there?

Ok, pulled the frag I had on the rock off, and pitched the rock. It had a couple nice hitchhicker zoas on it and some nice purple encrusted coraline, but not worth the whole take getting covered in brown little fuzzy wuzzies. I'm so glad you folks are here. That would have gotten out of control and taken over the tank.
