    Hi everyone,

This coral was sold to me as a gorgonian a while back but would just like to know if anyone knows which type (so I could do some extra research)?

Then this is a very bad picture but does anyone know what this is? Nudibranch?

    Hi Bud,

Don't know what it is but its a stunning coral.
I got a yellow normal one but was my first attempt at one and so far so good.
    Just feed them

It really is a beautiful coral when it opens up! Adds a very unique shape and colour to the tank.

What do you feed yours and how often do you feed @Vishaal?

    Rob,

Looks to be a Gorgonian ( Ellisella sp.), but again difficult to confirm from the pic.

As to your second pic - This does appear to be a nudibranch.
Unfortunately the bulk of nudibranch species do not fare well in our tanks. Normally I would suggest that you get rid of it. However without positive ID, hang on until you can get a better pic.

Perhaps another member could offer a different opinion to this.

I might be wrong but that looks like an montipora eating nudibranch and it's a pest. I lost a 30cm plating monti to those buggers

Thanks @Apollo! Cannot seem to find too much information online about it...

Thanks for the views regarding the possible nudibranch! I have gotten rid of it - would rather be on the safe side...

@Vishaal do you not have any algae issues feeding phyto that often? I have only started dosing this week and do not know too much about feeding corals but from the very limited reading that I have done, phyto may cause algae? I suppose I will have to feed more than once a week though to have some impact on the coral's overall health...

Thanks again for all the help!

Without any fish in the system I do not know if there are enough nutrients for a refugium to work just yet but I do have a pretty good skimmer and CUC so maybe I will start throwing in some more and take it from there... Will first wait and see what is happening with the system with regards to my remaining shrimp though to make sure he is OK...
