One of my Vlamingi's (about 5 years old) has had a few spots for a few years now. About 4 years ago he developed "pop eye" and it was soon resolved. He has always had a fluke or two but this new development is rather concerning. Here is a pic of his eye. @Achilles @Lord_Blackadder @LikesFish have you had this before?

Before i start with the FW formalin treatment i would like experienced reefers opinion.

No Riaan it is definitely a parasite. I have seen it on the body of the fish. I am not sure if it is a Dactylogyrid or a parasitic copepod. They are about 1mm long. Just wish i could get a better pic. Silly fish will not let me photograph that side of him.

it could be a parasitic copepod (Chondracanthids spp.)
does it look like anchorworm, with 2 projections sticking out?

Steve I was planing on doing a FW dip with Formalin over the weekend. The issue is the vlamingi is a big boy, about 280mm and he is in a big tank.

Will definitely put the parasites under the scope.

Tonight it looks like the parasite has left the fish and the damage to the eye is the eye skin. The eye does not have the (as many) flagellants dangling from the eye, if any. Just what looks like discarded membrane. The worrying factor is the pin prick holes in the eye. I will try and get decent pic's but it looks like the right eye will also become infected.

The fish is a lot more sociable and posed for me.

Sorry @pXius no Video to night. Forgot to do it. Will try tomorrow.

Thank you rob. Here are pics of the infected eye today. The fishes right eye (left eye as we look at him). Note the "pin pricks" where the parasite's were.
