Id algae needed

    have this algae issue , have no idea what it is google has no idea either aparently . so was wondering if any one had some input , its really thick and sticks to the sand in clumps and is almost impossible to gt off the sand. did a scrub of the tank recently and i see its starting to come back again. so any help would be great

    Green slime algae?
    Whats your nitrates and phosphates like. How much and often do u feed?

    phosphates were within normal parameters when i checked and nitrates were at 0 mg/l

    i feed once in the morning and once at night barely a finger tip full and once in morning theres onli two clownes in there so i dnt feed heavily

    any ideas on how to slow it down or kill it?
    was thinking of getting a uv lamp to kill algae bacteria but not sure if it will help tho?

    Difficult to determine correct phosphate levels when one have algae........ Algae consumes phosphates, hence when one test, your phosphate levels will look normal, especially excessive algae

    been reading around on the algae problem and aparently old light bulbs can cause algae , how much truth is there to this? coz ive bought my light unit from a friend who had it before me and he had it for prob a year and the bulbs are still the original ones that came with the unit . so could this be causing my algae bloom?
