Hi guys,

I have somewhat of a problem, while feeding my fish now I discovered I have an outbreak of WS.
I unfortunately don't have a spare tank at the moment for QT...

What can I do to save my fish?
1 x Sailfin Tang, 1 x Blue Devil Damsel, 7 x Green and blue cromis, 1 x Serpent starfish, 1 x blue starfish, 4 blue legged hermits, 1 x LTA anemone and a few Turbo and Turban snails.

I have been running my tank with no problems for 2 years now and now all the sudden I have WS.

Its a 400l tank including my sump, between 50-60kg LR, 2 x ATI aquablue special T5's, and 2 x Reeftek coral blue T5's (they are on from 11:00 till 20:00)

Any help would be appreciated!

What's changed
New fish?
Temp spike up or down?
Water parameters?

Post a pic of some of the fish so we can make sure you are definitely dealing with WS.

If it is Ich you will have to remove all fish and treat in a QT as soon as possible. Your options are tank transfer method ( search here on MASA. RiaanP has a great write up on it, hypo salinity (not so easy as you need a proper calibrated refracto meter and auto top up, or copper treatment. ( I have had great success with seachem cuprimine. Use with salifert test kit.) You will need to let your main tank go fallow for 72 days.

Keep an eye on amonia (use seachem amonia alert). If you have some floss or sponge in your main tank you can must use it in the QT for the bacteria to break down waste. A simple filter will do. I have a very small canaster filter and a little halia power filter in mine. Failing which regular daily water changes to keep amonia in check.

Also I do not want to sound like the tang police but your tank is too small for the sailfin. They get very big.

If the whole tank has it, I wouldn't recommend moving them at all.
The additional stress could be the nail in the coffin.
Orca do a med that doesn't affect corals at all its called Res-Q-med, it's for WS.
I've used it and it works.
You can dose that and soak all food in garlic guard.
Just keep the fish happy and fed to boost there immune system.

They are already stressed from the Ich. Transfering them will not kill them. If it does they are already too far gone in any event and will not make it. The res-q-meds only work if you catch it very early and dose correctly. I have also used it and it worked. However, I had a serious hectic strain in a tank and dosed too late and lost all fish.

24.9 is really not bad. Key is stable temperature. I keep my current tank at 25. But it is always at 25 with the maximum temp at 26 before the chiller kicks in during summer. Temp swings are not good.
