Ice berg found off EC coastline

    Just heard on the news local that a ice berg was found off cape st francis.
    Measurements 25m above sea 60m below sea and 25m wide,

    This is a scary thought ice bergs out here wierd
    if anyone else hears anything let us know.

    hmmm, havent read the articles, but it does sound a bit strange- you would think that they would melt in the warm mozambique current?

    If i remember correctly from varsity, we only see an eighth of an iceberg, so that means that theres over 150 metres of ice below water... scary... If its true then damnation thats a hectic story

    thought so... almost impossible for SA to get icebergs, especially of that size

    Unfortunately don't have any links but on Jackaranda 94.2 this morning they asked a meteorolgist (or some weather researcher) and he says it's nothing more than a joke.

    Geez i hope so, with season around the corner diving between icebergs could prove a bit nasty:slayer:

    it was a prof from University of KwaZulu Natal... funny- studied in the environmental sciences faculty at that university for six years and never heard of him!

    how the heck did this ice berg make it all the way down to SA?it must have been way bigger if you think about all the melting it went through
