Eish Robert. I really hope that you have more luck with yours, as I had with mine. Mine died shortly after I got it.

Also - mine did not want to eat anything.

Jacques the problem of butterfly-fish not eating is mainly to the collector/exporters who don't train the fish to eat food. The fish is caught within 2days exported, the fish don't even have time to get use to its new world, they die shortly. Am telling this, because I've myself experienced this. But I've been able to feed difficult butterfly-fish such blackburn's or Meyeri's to prepared food.

"Occur in coral-rich lagoons and semi-protected seaward reefs. Territorial and aggressive to other Chaetodon. Small juveniles secretive in corals (Ref. 48636). Swim in pairs. Feed exclusively on coral polyps, particularly of the Pocillopora type (Ref. 5503, 48636). Oviparous (Ref. 205), monogamous (Ref. 52884). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205)."

Looks like you could be in for a great time with your pollyp collection...it is still a great looking fish

That's a bit worrying, also in the pic it looks like he's after your galaxy coral.

Mauritius-Aquarist - have you been able to train these specific butterfly's to eat prepared foods?

My meyerii also eats prepared foods. As well as my limespot butterfly, and raccoon butterfly.

But, this was quite long ago that I kept one of these..... And I agree fully with your statement, btw.

U know wat I do, I always have 3-4 already eating butterfly-fish in the system, So whenever newcomers are introduced in holding tank, looking at the others eating like pigs the new one also tempt to eat and do the same! That have work with other species, like many of the anthias!;)

**By the way, i've seen that some difficult butterfly-fish sometimes accept seaweed/nori attached to small live rocks.
