i had this bugger in my tank from the time my tank was setup.it was smaller than a 1 rand coin.and now about 7 months later i caught him out.the syringe will give you an idea of the size

Now now chaps, it's not the crab's fault that it's in your tank, poor little sod was probably eyeing up some nice looking lady crab when his house suddenly went airborne, 2 months later and nursing jet lag he's in your tank, have a heart and either give it back to the lfs, failing that sump him feed him up and the bbq him.
