I am going ZeoVit, scared, nervous and yet excited!

    oki so i am going to take the plunge, i am going to strip my system down, make some changes to the sumps, etc and go the whole hog
    but i am nervous and worried at the same time

    any advice?

    dallas, the best thing to do is go simple..

    "a reef in the sky" on zeovit.com is a very good example, but as youll notice on andrews thread he is super meticulous...

    and andrew has only 1 years worh of marine experience marines before this system with a tiny little Red sea max tank (RSM130 i think) so it can easily be done if you are diligent and adhere to the basics..

    the nice thing for us is that there is a whole forum dedicated to supporting it and we have a importer as a sponsor..

    Dallas i feel too much rock is a problem with most of our systems.. and i see the more sucessful zeo systems either having limited rock ot alot of flow to remove detritus..

    less is more my friend...

    Yeah I feel the same. LR is for bio systems. I removed a lot of rock from my tank and still am going to remove more.

    i started cleaning a holding tank in my garage, 1000x1000x300, going to house all my livestock there for the next 3 weeks while i strip it all down then restart
    pics will following when i start the new build, going to make it a picturesque story board....

    what is the best way to do this, i am still deciding

    i was thinking of starting the holding tank with fresh salt water adding a skimmer, heater and flow, then adding some LR from the dt and adding special blend, then moving 50% of my bilogical media accross and start moving livestock over during a course of 5-7 days dosing special blend every 3rd day...

    any suggestions?
