    Hi there ppl

Man did i get a fright just now.
I fed the fish this morning and didn’t see anything.

Later i went back to the tank after breakfast then i saw what seemed to be a dead hermit.

Very unhappy does not even describe what i felt.
But then i counted the hermits.
4 hermits and they all seem to be alive.

Then i knew it was only the old skin.
    What a relieve.

    Here is some pics.

Here is also some pics of the back of my tank.
Some ppl on masa said i might have to put in a fan in the bottom of the sump.
Because im gona close it up with wooden panels.

Already done the sides just need doors.
this cap at the back of the tank is about 100mm so i think it should be ok for evaperation.
Let me know what you think fellow masa ppl.

That is a big one, or you got small hands....

Do you have a few empty shells lying around?

That is a big one! I had a similar experience to yours - I thought my crabs were dying, until RiaanP told me it's only the old skin. BTW, I'm in Vanderbijlpark this weekend.

@RiaanP - I have some empty shells lying around. Do you want some?

not sure. not worthwhile to ship...

Maybe next time at LFS, they also got snails dying on them. Just ask them for 2 or 3.

You do not need a lot. As the big one takes a bigger shell, you will find the next one taking its old house.

Funny thing is that sometimes all the shells end up on the same spot in the tank. Like a used car lot.

hey mate! I know how it is lol! You should actually leave the old exoskeleton in the tank as the crab will eat it to regain certain nutrients to help to grow the new exoskeleton. After a day you should then take it out, if anything is left lol. When I had lobsters they all used to eat the shed. Also, inverts can also die while shedding sometimes and are vulnerable when shedding :)
