    Hi

Can I highjack this thread pls?

I have this nano one. Stunning, not so little skimmer, fits in nicely and when it skims is really gets stuff out.

Only problem I have is that there is no easy way to filter the intake water. If there is any stringy stuff in the water (cheato is particularly bad), the strainer on top of the pump gets quickly block and then the skimmer's performance disappears.

As the strainer is right in the middle of the skimmer, I have to not only take it out of the filter area (and in the Buyo it is quite a job), I also have to dismantel it to get to the strainer. Mission and big job, so my skimmer often run for "a few days" not skimming properly. As I do not us mechanical filterers in my tank (other than the skimmer), it happens very often now.

I have added fiter flos pads to the intake area, but water (and the stringy stuff) can still find its way around.

Any suggestion how to get the intake water filtered?

Not sure on that one if you dont want to filter particles out of water. maybe pull stocking over intake?

Can't, it is part of the body, won't be able to remove the cup then. I have stuck a pad over the intake with tape, but another mission to take it off and put it back on every time you want to clean it.

The design skims the surface beautifully, but don't have an pipe intake.

Len you are smart technically so shouldnt take you too long to come up with a cool solution. if you take some more pics so that i can see what is going on i might be able to see if i can come up with something.
