The hybrid cleaner goby is a one of a kind aquarium fish which doesn’t occur in nature (as far as we know) Resulting from the cross between a male blue neon cleaner goby*Elacatinus oceanops and a female Brazilian endemic*Yellowlline goby,*Elacatinus figaro,*hybrid cleaner gobies were first introduced by Oceans Reefs & Aquariums (ORA).

You’d think that mixing a blue line with a gold/yellow line would result in a green lined goby but instead the hybrid cleaner goby shows a beautiful teal stripe which fades to yellow towards the head, not unlike the sharknose goby, Elacatinus evelynae. After a long period of absence ORA has resumed the breeding of the unique hybrid cleaner goby and young fish are now available again. Together with the red headed goby,*Gobiosoma puncticulatus,*ORA’s captive bred fish include a myriad of small peaceful gobies which are very well suited to life in nano tanks, so you can populate your nano reef with some captive bred micro fish without impacting wild fish. *[via ORA]
