    Hi Guys

I'm not sure what type of gobie I have, he is white with a black spot on his dorsal fin & small light blue dots around his gills. Anyway, what exactly do gobies eat? My tank is new so I'm not sure if there is enough for him to eat. This might sound strange but he looks 'skraal'. He doesn't eat the flakes, pellets or frozen mysis shrimp that the other fish eat. Is there anything I can feed him which he cannot resist? If someone can I.D him on this information that would be nice too!

    Thanks:)

Post a pic please as its hard to id for sure without a pic.
Sounds like a sand sifter, if it is then it wont survive in a "new" tank as he eats the goggas in your substrate.

    But a pic will help.

They tend to forage for left overs and pods in the sand if it is indeed a sand sifter...

    Hi Evo R

He does sift the sand, yes. Can only post a pic after work. Is there nothing else he will eat? I really don't want him to starve to death!:(

Sand sifters need a mature tank where the substrate has enough pods ect to feed him , without him depleting the whole colony of pods.

If you have some for of macro algae, id advise you put that in the DT somewhere at the bottom so that he can eat directly from it.

Otherwise wait for some of the guru's to advise you on some alternative to try and feed him.

And if all else fails, give him to a friend or sponser to look after him until your tank is a bit more matured.
