How to identify rating or the skimmer itself

Hi. I am interested in buying a second hand reef octopus skimmer. The seller says it's rated for a 1500L tank. How can I confirm this and how do I identify the model? Any help would be much appreciated.

Measure the height of the skimmer and check on the RO website. That should give you an idea

which is better between a reef octopus and a bubble magus curve 5?

What size is your tank? Cause a BM Curve 5 is only rated for max 500L

The tank is 480L without the sump.so do you suggest I go with the reef octopus?

Depends on what Reef Octopus. If your system is close to 500L without sump, I'd go for something like a BM Curve 9 or TS3 etc
