So i was drooling over my tank the other day as most of us do when i saw the camel shrimp tear into a mushroom. Used his big nasty pincers and was munching away at it...

I wasn't aware they weren't quite reef safe when i put him in 5 months ago.

Is there a way to catch him? I don't want to move any rock and i tried netting him tonight after lights out but he darts away like a rocket when i get in close

    Ideas?

Try Like putting some food in a stocking and leave it near its hole.
Attach some fish line to the stocking.
The shrimp will go for the food and once he steps onto the stocking hes legs spiky stuff get stuck in the stocking.
Thats how they catch crayfish from the shoreline:thumbup:

How big is the shrimp? A 500ml bottle might work if he is still smallish... Actually, that kak. The 500ml bottle and 2L bottle have the same size cap. It will still work!

Ive even thought of making a spear using a sharp pin attached to a longer pipe and connecting elastic band to use as a trigger aka bear grylls style

    arghhhhh

Spent most of the night trying to get him with no luck. Tried stockings and net and a spear. Apart from removing the rock i dunno what to do. And as usual he is eating the most rare zoas i have.

I am actually thinking of getting a bigger tank so that would sort it all out lol, would need to take it all out anyway

This mite sound like a retarded idea but if he comes out from the rock put a net into his hole (under the rock)And chase him into the cave and close his escape.
The 2 nets should be the same size.

I tried that approach. All that happens is the rocks get snagged when i try picking the net up too quickly. In my case im not too worried anymore, i chose this opportunity to take everything out and upgrade...

That little f'er is gonna dry in the sun come the weekend!
