    Hey everyone

just wanted to find out how often you you all clean your glass in your tanks?

personally i find it to be at least once a week and if i leave it, it gets hectic.

Hi Sweet-n-Sour. I use the magnet to clean, between one and three times a week.

BUT, sometimes the more hardy micro algae grows on the glass - that the magnet cleaner struggles to get off - between me and my wife, we clean that off once every 2 weeks or so.....

Just normal green algae on the glass, my tank is only 4 months old now so still maturing! Iv upped to a weekly 10% water change instead of every second week which has definitely helped with glass cleanliness. Im also in the market for some more turbo snails since I only have one snail to clean the whole tank! waiting on LFS to get some stock in.

I used to run a PO4 remover, Sweet-n-Sour. But, the cost became slightly high. So - now - I don't run any PO4 remover, other than my chaetomorpha. I have a chaeto ball of +-40 sq. cm in size ;)

Also - I have +-1500 liters of water... and about 100kg's of live rock and +-60kg's of bio-rock....

    I also have 2 x 90cm tanks with DSB's...

As well as my Bubble Magus skimmer. So no - I don't have any other PO4 remover.

BUT, that said - I don't think that there is ANY way to never have micro algae growing on the inside of our tank's glass..... I have NEVER come across ANYONE who never gets this micro algae growing.....

I find my blue tuxedo pincushion urchin goes to town on corraline in my tank, in one night he's cleaned an entire piece of live rock. He does go onto the back of the tank as well but I dont have much corraline on there.

Everyday with a magnet. If I dont than the the hard algae starts growing than have to use a blade. Its because with 1000w of lighting the algae just grows all over.
