How much Kalk

    hi guys i need to know how much kalk to add to my reactor. the container says 1 teaspoon for 2 litres of water. but thats for a slow drip directly into the tank. how much do i throw into the reactor (reef octopus KR-100) and how often do i refill.

    6 or so tablespoons. Refill when needed (I used to refill every 6 weeks or so)

    Spoke tn a guru about this once. He said you can pour the whole bottle in, as the water can only get saturated that much.

    So what we are saying that you cannot over mix the kalk when making the solution ? I'm goin to start the 2L bottle method for now :)

    I'm with Sean on this one. The water can only take up so much. I used to add about 200g to my reactor.

    I add a heaped teaspoon for every day ie 7 spoons and refll every week.
    Dont add 200g at once as the possibilities are you will get too much added to the tank in a short space of time which can result in a huge pH spike.
