when they start stressing each other out but i think that when they get to 10 - 15 cm they too big for you to have 5 at that size

when my new tank is ready  send them my way....

Well actually when they start fighting you should let them go...preferably most agressive first so that you can prolong the need to take out the others all at once.

@Falcon convicts are 1 of the few if only schooling tang there is as they are the runts of the tang family and move around
in packs of 100's at a time forraging reefs for algae, thats 1 of the reasons that they would get picked on by other tangs in a tank. because of their strength in numbers they have no fear of any tangs in the wild as they go into other tangs territories with ease in a tank its not so easy. as long as you have more than 2 at a time u will be fine. sweetsour has 5 in his tank with no issues granted they are still tiny at the moment but they will be fine as they get older as well.

Great man. None of them died.
    Every thing survived the trip.

Im just warried a bit about the big sea urchin, his not moving around mutch yet. But the black one is ine.

I climatized the fish then put them in the tank.
The mud hopper went in hiding and the tangs aswell.

But not even 15min then the convicts were all out and swimming about.
Started grasing of the LR aswell.
I also added some nori for them. I saw one eating the nori so far.

    They doing good man.
    I realy happy.
Just wana let them chill and tho coral to open then ill take some pics.

hmm i'm not so sure...regal tangs are found in small group of around 12 and yellow tangs are found in large schools in Hawaii.Yet when placed in the small confines of a tank they tend to eventually turn on each other as they grow.

Ive seen a friend of mine here in my area having five yellows and after two years they started killing each other!Achilles had a similar problem with tangs that got along when little and he had to reduce the number of regal tangs in his tank due to the increased aggression after a while.

Do you know of anyone keeping a school of convicts to adulthood for a few years?if so then convicts may indeed be the tangs of choice for anyone wanting a school as unless you have an extremely large tank like david saxby and others.....

dude in the wild im taking 100's at a time no other tangs school like convicts u should see it, its awesome. (search youtube im sure u will see it) yellows are a couple at a time i have seen 5 to 15, only baby regals school together when thy get large they solitory. no one has kept many cos its not worth the bioload unless u like the silver and black. sweetnsour has 4 in his tank at the moment and i have no doubt they will be fine for a long time.

Even so yellow tangs are true schooling fish in the wild yet they tend to turn on each other in captivity long term.I'm not saying that convicts will definitely turn on each other I'm just saying that we cant be sure until we have seen them being kept peacefully long term together in the close confines of the average reef tank, hence my assumption that they "COULD" eventually turn on each other;).I guess time will tell as we'll see from CW and sweetnsour's tanks in time to come as they grow, then we'll know for sure

Heres some pics of yellow tang school from a quick google...clearly groups larger than 5-15 bro.

Speaking of silver and black, how is it that some peoples convicts are much yellower than others?is it a case of diet, age or sexual orientation or what, any ideas?
