Hey guys maybe someone can help me.
How often should I feed as I am feeding the fish twice a day but am going away for a week.
My Mom will come and feed the fish while I am gone I just want to know should she come everyday or will the fish be ok being fed every second day.

We can't help you if you don't give us details. What fish, how many and how long are you going for? :)Generally fish can go a couple of days without food but that's just cruel! Tell your mom to come once a day and consider an automatic fish feeder from your local fish shop next time so that your problem does not become hers. :)

You can aslo get a auto feeder and fill it with good quality flakes or granular food, depending on how many fish and what species, you would be able to sort them out for a week. My auto feeder fed my fish twice a day for a week in December and when I got back they where all in the same (fat) condition as when I left.

fish can go days without food, some fish dont eat for weeks when they are spawning. a week is a long time if your fish are used to getting food every day,but feeding them every other day will be ok

different species eat more than other and require more regular feeding than others. Alot fish in the wild only eat when they get food so they dont eat every day but captive bred fish have different eating habits

she should check on your tank everyday. Fish can go for a while without food but the tank as a whole needs to be monitored constantly incase something goes wrong (power goes out etc).
And have a fellow reefer on standby so that if somehting major does happen, there is someone to fix things.

Get your mom to check your tank very day but let her feed every second day incase she over feeds. For one week that will be fine coz if she over feeds you will lose your live stock and your water parameters will be sky high

It will not be a problem for my Mom to come everyday as she lives very close.
Also I do not go away often only once a year and I am going for 7 days.
I think I will just ask her to come everyday just to be safe.

Here are some pics of my fish

Yes that is a keyhole angel and also a Bicolor in the pic, prob the two worst fish to put together both have a serious attitude with most other fish let alone another centropyge.

How long have you have that Keyhole angel, they are very tricky fish to keep happy from a nutrition point of view

I have had the tank for a month now the previous owner had it for a few years with all these fish in

They all seem happy and not fighting with each other he said he only lost 1 cleaner shrimp I have not seen these two fish fight or hassel any of the other fish.

I feed them flakes in the morning.
In the evening I rotate one evening I feed Marine Pelletswhich sink to the bottom and then the next I will feed frozen food and so on
