    I know this varies widely depending on the persons setup etc, but how long did it take your tank to cycle?

    My cycle was quick, but it was cured rock and live sand. Sump was 1/2 live sand and half aragonite

    The nitrogen cycle or the entire cycle for various organisms to establish themselves and achieve a balance (with no more algae)?

    3 Weeks ;P Cured LR was the key there! All my paly's & shrooms on the LR also survived (and dare I say it) seemed to thrive throughout my cycle

    Cycle about 6 weeks, to bed down and balance itself out, about a year.

    mine was about 2-3 months to get all water right and tank looking good

    So as soon as the nitrogen cycle is done fish can be added? Not the sensitive types.

    Fish is not really a problem, but definately have to wait it out for the Corals

    I waited 3 months before i added corals .
    Tanks took about 5 weeks to cycle.

    i used live water, sand and cured LR - so mine was short - 3 weeks but i waited for 1.5 months before i added any zoas and 2.5 months before i added any fish

    I started with dead white coral rock....20kg's if I remember good,took 8-10 wks b4 I added my first fish.............cycled other rock over a year or so adding it to my tank as I upsized, now have approx 100kgs and 2 yrs down the track.

    GO NZ super 14 teams :)
