You may get some admin at customs. I spent a week on an island on the barrier reef and saw lots of sps out the water during low tides, I have seen some articles advocating shipping SPS in we newspaper. Zoanthids can stay out the water at high tide too with no issues so I assume a similar resistance. I have never observed LPS out of water at low tide and they are generally found a bit deeper so I assume they need more water for transport. On the plane, I would not put the coral in your checked in baggage as the hold gets very cold. I tried those oxygenating tablets once with catastrophic results, I think they push the ph up too much.

Sounds like smuggling and a good way to get arrested.

Definitely not worth th e risk. The airports have recently installed fancy biosecurity scanners so there is an extrmely good chance you'll get caught.

Bringing anything living in without a permit from the Department of Agriculture will result in the item being confiscated. If you get a permit, sure, bring it in :)

Well, DHL still has to go through customs, so unless you have that permit, it'll never get through
