how long can a new tank (that has never been filled) stand dry? i know older tanks cannot stand too long and especially not in the sun, otherwise the silicone becomes brittle.

    thoughts and experiences welcome.

im just concerned that the lack of moisture will cause it to dry out, both yours and shauns tanks have not been wet yet since June 2010? i think?

    and its on my mind..

im sure there must be a grace period as not all tanks are sold right away, but i do know that rainbow aquariums who manufacture glass only do do many a week and in my time at the store we sold what we got in withing a few weeks..

    so hence my quiery..

Our 1.2M tank was bought like 4 almost 5 years before we actually started doing anything with it. Moved like 3 times with the empty tank. we eventually got started and didn't even think of the age of dryness... all good so far and its been full for almost a year now.... I think....

"How longs can a new tank like to be standing dry?"

    LOL...

I have seen tanks in Exotic stand for many many moons... I actually bought a tank that was there for 6 months at least, and that tank is still running...

I think if it is built well, it can like to be standing a while...
