    Hey guys

Got a bucket of that Seachem Reefsalt. Just curious - the directions state that 34g of salt will make 1L at 1.021. Therefore a 25L bucket should take 850g, which I did, stirred a bit and left for a while. But the salinity was only 1.005... ***? As far as I can see there is no undissolved salt. Am I missing something?

And no, my hydrometer is not out (not that much anyway, my tank water reads 1.024)

I never go on what the manufacturer says only. I heat up my water and run a circulation pump. I add salt slowly close to the recommended dosage and circulate for 24hrs. Then I measure and adjust.

cool thanks guys. I have found that it is difficult to get all the salt to dissovle in the jerry can I am mixing in it - I cannot fit a pump or powerhead through the hole; I will get another container to do my mixing in today.

I used Reef Salt and followed the exact instructions, got my temp to 24 and added the correct ratio and it ended up perfectly so it must be the temp...
