    Hi All

Just though I would share my new little tank with you.:)

This tank was bought from somone on the forum about 8 months back.
After catching these a pair of hotlips triplefin blennies (fancy mudskippers as my uncle put it) in natal while on holiday and being nervous of my hawkfish eating them, I decide to clean the little tank up do a few modifications and set it up again.

It is a small cube 300mm*300mm*300mm(27 litres). with a back compartment of 300mm*100mm*300mm(9 litres).

Plans are to build a hood, move compartments in the back to fit a skimmer, add a 400lph return pump, order some leds and give it a good clean.:p

    Heres a few pics.

This is the hotlips triplefin blenny(Helcogramma obtusirostris) hard to get a nice pic of but has a really striking colouring around the mouth. I have them in quarintine at the moment.
They are fully grown at about 45mm. Hard to find info on, although I did find a bit.
I was worried about them eating in the beggining, as they look a bit like mandarins.
I now know thats the least of my problems as they eat everything I feed them.

A few pics of the tank before cleaning and modifications.

I haven't ordered yet but its gonna be leds.
I was think 3watt leds maybe 5 white, 3 blue and 2 for the cheato in the back.

Working on the hood at the moment, so I want to see whats going to fit nicely.

This may take a bit longer than expected.
I cut all the boards got everything ready to put together and as I was pushing the wooden frame together the whole thing cracked in two places:(. So I have to basically start from scratch with the lid.

They are quite fiesty little fish.
They eat a lot, I don't think I have ever seen a fish so stuffed.
Seem quite healthy and the quarintine tank is doing ok, so I think they should be ok for now.

I didn't get a pic of the female but she doesn't have such a brightly coloured face.
He looks almost see through in this pic, but when he sits on a darker rock he goes a dark red brown colour. Good at camoflage.

    Update time.

I finally managed to get it up and running.:)
The lid is almost ready the varnish is just busy drying.
The leds are on the way.
The fish are still in quarintine tank.

The skimmer come from my TL550, I upgraded its skimmer a while back so I had this one lying around and it fitted perfectly. There is about 5kgs of live rock in there at the moment, I haven't decide how to put it yet I am probably still going to move it around and might even take some out.

Also still going to put some cheato and chemical filteration next to the skimmer.

Here a few pics will post more when I get the lid on.

    Hi @caddy.

I am feeding it super brine and live brine at the moment, but I don't think it will be hard to get them eating flakes as they are quite good eaters. I will try when they are in the new tank.
