HLLE ando yellow tangs

I recently purchased a running system in order to seed my new system with life etc and one of the fish I got with the deal was a yellow tang but it's fins are totally eroded.

The fish looks like a filefish for lack of a better description.

Perfectly healthy otherwise and showing no signs of stress but I have kept it out of the main display.

My question is: has anybody ever nursed one to full health with fins totally regrown from HLLE before.

The regal I got has some on its marking as well. I am confident I will rehabilitate it perfectly. The yellow just seems a little far gone though.

Yes, however was a very long road to recovery and expensive. Fish was in holding tank treating with copper meds, did water changes in the morning and evenings. Manage to get him to eat brine...
