    @SCOOBY...will it do the job or is a 50% water change better...Will a 50% WC bring it down ?

    kh 23...
    ph=8.1...
    ca=560...
    mg=1500...
    Salinity=024...
    Water temp 24...

    I stopped dripping kalk 5/6 weeks ago hoping my ca will come down it was on ca=700 ....and by stopping the kalk..this affected my ph and resulted in some sps bleaching...I then went and added bicarb well I slipped ...now my kh is way out...had to frag 2 sps corals today and don’t want to loose more...due to lo ph=7

    I think do that 50% w/c and see where your kh , mag and cal will be.What is your tank vol?Your cal is way out!Sould be 440 max. Mag is at it`s max but must drop too.
    And then use that Tropic Marin.

    Step back in time, and into someone else's experience..
    Your decision to act in response to an unnnaturally high Alkalinity, can be helped

    I heard by adding overdosing calcium for the next few days , the alk will drop ...

    Anybody done or tried this as a high alk countermeasure ?

    my ca usualy run in the 600's...it is 560 today...what is overdose? i have not had a test kit in 13 years and never had wories...since i been testing i'm constantly worying what next...i think i must fix this kh problem and sell my test kit's and go by the old school rules ...only have the water tested when my kenya trees show strain ..and then a wc normaly fix all any way...
    i did't even know one must test for mg or kh until i joined the forums ....
