    Hi everyone!!!!
I am Charles From Richardsbay. We just recently moved my farther in laws
tank to my place "some of you might have known him (Herkie Viljoen)".
and just wondered if anyone could help? My clown started getting little
black spots and I have no idee if this is a bad thing?

Welcome to MASA, glad you joined us. Condolences to you and the family again. If you are completely new to marines, please read the link below on starting a marine tank - it will give you great info on how the nitrogen cycle works.

Here are the link on sick fish, black spot is a disease, so not a good thing

Hi Charlie, I'm very sorry for your loss. Welcome to MASA. Could be sting marks. Do you have Frogspawn or any other LPS?

Could you post a pic of the clowns? Sometimes they try host in Frogspawn and get stung.

Hi,in my previous tank I had an anemone that two clowns hosted in,did not have frogspawn or any other "tenticle type" coral,my one clown also developed black spots on him,but he acted normal, swam normal, ate normal etc so I just ignored it and it went away after about two weeks, not sure what it was but that was two years ago and those clowns are still alive and with the guy I sold them to,so yeah I can't give u an exact answer but that's just my experience with this if that helps ..

Hi Charlie and welcome bud, glad to have you on here and Herkies tank can carry on, if you ever need a hand, give me a shout bud,

Don't worry about the black spots, it is either from being burn't by frogspawns, or a black ick which is commen in fish especially clowns and regals, but it hardly affects the fish much and should clear up in a few days to weeks, is it on the white stripes of the fish only?

Pm me your phone number if you ever want advice, cheato, help or any meds etc for the fish. I got some antibiotics for the fish if you want, but I wouldn't worry about black spots.
