NP pellets can take up to 6 weeks, 10ppm is not to high, what is your PO4 as np pellets need both po4 and no3?

All solutions will take 2 weeks to kick in properly, you can look at orca bio cubes

Bio pellets are known to work, so there must be another reason its not working.

There is amount of time before the bacteria takes to colonize the pellets.Cant remember off hand @williet

Are the pellets tumbling correctly? Check youtube there are alot of videos on how it should look.

Are you using enough pellets for your size tank?

Do you have constant power for the pellet reactor? As prolonged power outages will cause the bacteria to die off and will have to start from scratch

I wouldnt mix methods you need to find one that works for you and stick with it. Mixing various chemicals could lead to disaster

Sorry guys! been off the radar for a while. It takes about 2 weeks to colonise. This can be assisted with bacterial dosing.

I don't understand why no one has mentioned nitra guard titanium cubes?
Due to the reefers lack of clean dead spots that would account for nitrates, he needs something good, I thought the cubes were a local product?
I know several guys that don't have adequate nitrate reduction knowledge and swear by the cubes for nitrate reduction

Nitra guard biocubes, is out of all my testing over 3 years, the only way of reducing nitrates to near 0 & keeping it that low for the life of the cubes. (6-12 months+).

I cant understand why the reefers keeps kicking against the idea of using biocubes.
It WORKS, costs about 60% less that getting biopellets (that dont always work) & will last just as long (if not longer)!!!

Ive been using my first batch of nitraguard titanium for 11 months now, & haven't even detected nitrates & phosphates since 2 weeks after adding them (& I feed quite heavily!).

Currently, im not even using an airstone anymore... Just the flow from my return...

Try it... It will make tank maintenance a breeze!

Also aquiring some Orca 'vodka' pellets, I hear they taste like funny though? :)

Jokes aside, If this product performs as well as suggested, it could be the modern answer to an old problem. Can't wait to get some.....again

Hi guys all my water parameters are great except nitrates, got Boyu 550, did cycle an got an air stone, activated carbon and some nitrate "reducing" pellets but sofar nothing is working did 20% water change on Sunday and still no drop. Been doing 10% every week. Any advice would be great cause I'm getting worried, it's at 50 ppm atm. Have tried chemicals, rsm no3 reducer, but scared it takes out the oxygen and kills my fish...

    Would more live rock help?

What make test kits are you using and when do they expire? I once used cheap test kits and kept getting high readings on my parameters. I was advised to take a sample to a lfs for them to test and I was shocked to see how far out my readings was.

Rsm full kit so it's a colour one, can take a sample in to a sponsor this wknd. Does however mean other readings skewed then? Do have redundancy tests but not nitrates one

He is referring to carbon dosing specifically vodca dosing. But be warned this an method that can go wrong very easily
