Quick intro,

I am in Durban, I am a Technical SalesSupport Engineer for a large International Istrumentation Company(If any body needs any online instruments let me know, flow meters, or any of the analytical stuff like PH probes etc). I am very technical minded so can usually look at things and sort them out.

Well I have a 3 Foot set up at the moment, Which is becoming to small(pictures to follow(Tank is in bedroom with sump in garage behind, Runs quite and so relaxing to fall asleep to fish)).

So on the Weekend I managed to score the following from a friend of a friend for R4000. There is also a five foot included with lid lights and stand which he ran on the canister filter. No pictures yet as we will be collecting it on the weekend.(If anybody wants to they can make me an offer on the 5 Foot. I dont think I will be using it. I will also be selling my 3 Foot with over flow and filter once the new tank is up and running.)

The tank is 12mm Glass Size is 900mm X 900mm X 900mm.
Lots of water about 880L any body in durban know where I can get cheap salt water or should I apply to get water from ushaka?

Came with what looks like 6 X T5 Lights.

All the pannels are also there for enclosing the stand and also extra covers/boxes for chiller and UPS.
[IMG][/IMG]

The overflow has 4 Compartments
3 are for salt water(1 is for deep sand bed) and 1 is for RO top up.

Also came with the following extras

The chiller is working, but it has a leak luckily my mate is in refrigeration. He looked at it before and said not a problem to sort out so we will hopefully have it up and running this weekend

[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

2 X ups to offer power during Load Shedding

[IMG][/IMG]

One decent size pump

[IMG][/IMG]

Protien Skimmer + 2 Powerhead Thingies

[IMG][/IMG]

I dont know what these rectangular thjings are but there are 2 of them, Maybe someone can advise??

[IMG][/IMG]

The only thing is I broke the ceramic shaft for the impeller for this Tetratec EX2400 Last night trying to clean it. Anybody know where I can get spares??

for R4000 that's a bargain..those tunze boxes are waveboxes I think which will work well. you probably only going to have to spend cash on a bigger skimmer if possible..i doubt that red sea skimmer can handle the water volume of that tank

Instead of calling the above an overflow, you call it a sump. This will help eliminate any possible possible communication discrepancies.

Thanks for the feed back. I will definitely get a bigger skimmer. I won the wife over by going into the pet shop and sent her pictures of fish and anemones crustaceans etc. She is now onboard:thumbup:

Ok so today I filled with water(Fresh) to check for leaks. All Good:1:

But made one hell of a noise, Sounded like Niagara falls.

So off to the hardware store I went. Built these in the chamber, quietened it down quite allot, But not enough, I think I will try throttle the outlets and see what difference that makes, and hopefully I will be able to get it to a correct level without a problem.
