    Hi Riaz, Welcome to MASA.

Plenty of reading to do before you start, and when you think you are thoroughly confused, you know you have not read enough!

Feel free to ask Q's, plenty of experienced aquarists around, willing to assist.

All the best with your new venture!

Do you have any idea of what you want to keep? Size of tank? Type of filtration?

Hi Gesiggie, thanks for the warm welcome.

i have a few friends who have some awesome tanks, and ive always wanted to start some time.

my 1 year old daughter absolutely loves watching the fish.

honestly, i have no idea where to start, like you said, lots of reading is probably the first thing to do.

i have no knowledge AT ALL wrt tanks and fish.

    i am an absolute newby!!

hopefully reading some threads on here will direct me down a favourable path.

where would you suggest i start?

    Welcome spiffy_01

After you've done the reading, start by deciding what size tank you can accomodate/afford, and take it from there...

    Hi Riaz, welcome to MASA!

The best place to start would be in the Beginners section.

Well, I guess you would start by reading @belindamotion's links...

Take a few hamburgers / pizzas / hot dogs / etc., close the door behind you, and be prepared not to surface for a while!!!

But on a serious note, there are some good information in those links.

And remember, no question is a stupid question, we all started out as newbies at some time. (Heck, I am still a noob myself!) So when in doubt... ASK!!!
