Hi,
I've been lurking on the site for a while now and at last decided to take the leap to post my first thread - I'm not very good at these type of things
I've had freshwater aquariums for almost 20 years but always wished for a Marine aquarium.
About 18 months ago my freshwater aquarium developed a serious leak and I decided that that was the chance I was waiting for. The rest is history.....
My aquarium has been running now for approximately 13 months and so far so good.
I struggled with a bit of nuisance algae a couple of months ago but got that semi sorted now.
My setup:
It is a FOWLR system
Jebo acrylic tank - approximately 300 litres
Currently running the standard T8 lights - 2 Ocean Sun (10,000K) and 1 Coral Sun (Actinic). Conversion to T5's planned in near future.
Sump - 100 litres (with ceramic tubes, Bio balls, deep sand bed, Tropic Marine Phosphate remover bags)
Halea - 2000 l/h return pump
DIY Overflow system - to scared to have tank drilled
Jebo Protein skimmer - not actually worth mentioning but it is better than nothing - was a gift from my wife so I dare not chuck it ...
Live stock
2 Fire gobys
1 Sailfin Tang
2 Yellowtail Damsels
1 Longnose hawkfish
1 Oscellaris Clown (Nemo)
1 Coral Beauty
1 Yellow Wrasse
1 Lemon Butterfly
1 Spotbanded Butterfly
1 long spined urchin
1 Tubeworm
1 Blue legged Hermit crab
2 Red legged Hermit crabs (not sure if the name is correct)
5 Turbosnails
1 Red Skunk Cleanershrimp
I will try and post some pics once sone pics once I've figured out how..
By the way for those of you that wondered what the pch356 stands for - it is taken from the 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster of which I drive a replica - one of the other passions in my life.
.... and thats my story.
Cheers
