    Im just wondering how to get rid of hair algae in my tank, it has taken over the coral.
    any idea what I can do to get rid of these things

    Give us a rundown of your tank filtration using aswell as water parameters. How often do you do water changes ect.

    My salinity is sitting at 1.025
    and do water changes every 3 weeks
    my tank is 1.2m x 500m x 500m

    have activated carbon in the overflow box as well as cramic beads

    U using mixed saltwater? Or NSW

    Wats your PO4?Also have you tried running orca biocubes or NP pellets?Do you have a skimmer?

    haven't tried biocubes.. or np pellets. I got a reef octopus bubble blaster.

    i think u may have phosphate issues - try using rowaphos or orcas phospha guard.

    Your substrate will be encouraging the need for extra sulphate reduction and lesson the ways in which nitrate should be handled naturally.
    Plus you most certainly have to much of the phosphate components in your water and in your substrate and in your rock by now.
    It’s a shame you have a surgeonfish-tang in there or you could use starver to get the phos down in moments.
    Nitra guard titanium I think it is called and a little GFH mate and things will improve a lot.
    Your skimmer only does so much and with a substrate, it is not easy to keep unwanted algae at bay.
