    Hi guys,

So, after a couple of months reading posts and gathering as much information i want to share my setup with you guys.

Tank has been running for just under 6 months.
Tank volume is around 360L with +- 100 L sump.

Dim are 1200x550x550 with corner overflow.
Sump i have a TS3 skimmer, small DSB and return pump. 10L auto top up which i fill twice a week.

In the display tank i have 4 x Seio pumps, and for the lights i have 2 X T8 38W white and 2 X T5 blue. i will upgrade the T8's one day.

I had a bad case of white spot in the tank, and lost all my live stock. SO at the moment i am in my 3rd week of running my system with out fish. going to leave it this way for another 3 weeks just to try get end the cycle.

Testing of my water i do once a week,
    KH - 9
    Ca - 450
    Mg - 1400 (a little high i think)
    Salt - 1023/4
    Temp - 26/27'C

I got roughly 45Kg live rock in the display tank with agronite. the rest is sand stone.

Ok, now for some pics. Comments welcome.:) dont think they really in order, but you'll get the general idea:thumbup:

Looking very good, and welcome! 1400ppm is ok IMO, just dont go higher. Thats a mighty big skimmer for your size system isnt it?

    Cheers

    Marc

BTW, the tank colour is awesome considering the lighting intensity being on the low side

Welcome to MASA Jurgs, glad you joined. Sorry about the losses.

Your tank looks very nice so far :)

    Here's my view.

Your DSB is too small and will be ineffective. The sump is not designed to house a DSB seeing that the glass partition next to the return pump is an "under flow".

Seeing that you're going to leave the tank for another 3-4 weeks to run, I would remove the DSB and cut out the glass partition between the DSB and the eggcrate.

I don't think removing the DSB will have such a big impact on the tank as it is very small, but you can dose some extra bacteria just to be safe. Just make sure the DSB area is clean and the water siphoned out before putting the sump back on line incase there could've been some sulfer that was released.

I would just fill it up with either live rock or chaeto and a light. The chaeto will be much more effective to remove nitrates than an undersize DSB.

Just use an energy saver lamp of 4000 - 6500 kelvin on a reverse cycle over the chaeto ;)

Having a great skimmer for your size tank is already

    Belated Welcome Jurgs

You can put the heater in the tank (looks ugly but so what ...only a day or 2).

Use a bucket for your skimmer & return...check out riaanp's thread called playstation 2. He had to do it out of urgency

IOtherwise looking very nice. Just one thought...keep an eye on the alveopora..they unfortunately have a "not so good survival rate" are you feeding it
