Guys my hermit has been burrying himself in the substrate lately... This normal or an indication of problems?

What type of hermit is it? do you have rocks or hiding places in the tank? how deep is your substrate?

Jip,7kgs of liverock and subrate about 1cm deep. He is a scarlet hermit as far as i know. He only covers his shell though. Tank mates are 3 other blue legged hermits and a clown.

A pic would help but has he recently shed? (i.e. moulted his old exoskeleton?)

Unfortunately i can't post pics, i'm browsing on my phone. He shed about 2 months ago. Haven't seen another exo again. He isn't rectracted into the shell though,so it doesn't seem as though he is unhappy.

He may have found a few snacks there, an established sand bed will have plenty to eat, as long as he is moving about and seems ok, then leave him.
