    Hi Capetonians,

I will be visiting Bellville next week, and will be staying at the Bellville Town Lodge on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

If anyone would like to stop by for a "kuier" in the evenings I would be very happy to meet for a bit of reef talk, and perhaps even supper...

I will unfortunately not have transport, so won't be able to visit further away...

    Hennie

    Frans, that will be great.

Let's finalize arrangements on Monday evening - that gives some time should anyone else want to join.

Howzit Hennie! Yes man! It would be awesome to see you again! These days I am stationed at Vodacom Techno Centre in Bellville during the daytime. So - yes, we can surely make a plan for a few drinks one afternoon/evening after work (me ;)).....

That's around 4:30pm/5:00pm. Let us know what you have in mind? Perhaps a drink and some company somewhere close to your hotel? Perhaps one of the pubs up Durban road?

    Let us know.....

    Cheers man!

OK, to confirm - I am booked into: "The Lodge, Bellville"

Let's tentatively arrange the meet for Wednesday afternoon/evening, say from around 17:00 - 17:30 until whenever... can you "locals" recommend a pub or restaurant which is not too noisy (I prefer being able to hear the discussion, and not the loud music :whistling:) and not too far away from this hotel?

Looking forward to a lekker kuier :1: oh, and if anyone else wants to join, don't be shy

Sounds GREAT Hennie. I know that across the street from you, there are a few pubs. Else - we can always look at the "local life" inside the Tyger Valley Centre? I think that the "Tyger Waterfront" is a wee bit DEAD after business hours.

Not that we want noise - but - everything is closed.....

Charlotte proposed "The Blue Peter" hotel, in Big Bay / Bloubergstrand - but that is QUITE a distance from your hotel.....

Ai, fond memories of this place. The first time I visited the Blue Peter was in 1988. Cannot believe the place is still there. That was the time the Gunston International surfing compos was still wild

    Exactly...

OK, so I'm sitting in the hotel in Bellville, and tomorrow night it is :slayer:... (I have a dinner date with my boss which I had to postpone until Thursday night so I could meet you guys & gals on Wednesday evening.)

Please suggest a place or two to meet tomorrow night - we need to finalize it by tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.

Cool Hennie! Perhaps the "Hound and something" there across the road from you? (In between Durban avenue and Willie van Schoor?)

I think that this is an Irish or old English Pub of something......

And I really appreciate it that you deem us to be of more importance, that you would move your dinner-date with your boss for us! ;)

    BTW: What time now again?

I would say between 17:30 and 18:00. I will try for slightly earlier, but I have a meeting in Stellenbosch tonmorrow afternoon, and I'm reliant on a lift from one of my colleagues, so I don't expect to ba back before then. If I'm a bit late, then by all means start the drinking without me

    Hi Tony,

Yes, you are very welcome to join us :)

Let's all meet at the Lodge hotel in Bellville (just off Durban road, I think...) for a drink - there's lots of place - and then decide on where we go (I will need a lift if it's not within walking distance)

No problems with a lift, Hennie. And WIllowbridge is great too. It's just down the road from where you are - but, it's about 10 minute walk, though.

And getting a lift is not a problem at all. You can get a lift with me.

I think it would be best if everyone meets up at your Lodge - IF parking allows! ;)

The Lodge is right across the road from Metropolitan Life's Parc-du-Cap.

It's where the Greyhound bus collects people. (For those of you know this "language" ;))
