    Hi all,

Apologies for being so scarce recently. About two weeks ago I started not feeling too well, and beginning of last week I went to see my GP for a checkup. I was referred to a cardiologist, to have an EKG done, and managed to get an appointment for this past Monday morning. What I thought was a waste of time turned into quite a shock, as I was told to go directly to hospital, and ended up receiving a stent in my heart that same afternoon - apparently, I was only minutes away from a heart attack !!!

Anyway, I've been discharged, and am now recovering at home - talk about wasting a perfectly good holiday :(

Seriously, though - I am just glad that I went for that check-up. Please learn from my experience: if you are not feeling well, SEE YOUR DOCTOR...

Lucky Hennie, very lucky, glad to hear you are well and recovering. If I may ask, what were the warning signs?

Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone - I really appreciate it.

Must say, I'm feeling a lot better already, and will hopefully have recovered completely by next week...

Noooo, lamb is processed vegetables, so how can it be bad for me :whistling:

Probably just general wear & tear catching up - used to be pretty wild in my young days...

Viper, there were no definite warning signs. I was pretty lethargic the last few weeks (did not even clean the tank's window...), but at the time I just told myself that I deserved a rest after a very hectic work year. Thinking back, I did have a feeling of pressure on my chest, the feeling one gets directly after having a big fright, but again, I just contributed it to stress.

I'm still feeling slightly shaky, but much better than directly after being discharged. I'm planning on doing a water change on the tank tomorrow (busy mixing the salt now) and will also help the Varsity to install their new skimmer, if I feel up to it - so things are settling back quite nicely. I just pity my poor wife who was stuck with me being a "patient" for the last week... just realized, that's another oxymoron: the word should actually be "impatient" :)
