I am going hunting in the bushveld next week, from the 2nd to the 6th of July, and will thus not be active on MASA during this time. I will respond to any messages posted after my return.

thanks, Everyone - I certainly plan to enjoy this hunt

Just east of Thabazimbi. Some 16 000 hectares of prime Bushveld, usually reserved for $$$ paying tourists, and it's not costing me a cent

Well, that would depend on Bambi, I suppose...

Actually, no - I have a problem with my Canon, and it's in for repairs. My daughter is away on holiday with the "point & shoot", leaving me with only the camera on the cellphone :( and that will be OFF, so don't expect too much...

No, "Old Faithful" is a 30-06 Sako which I've had for nearly 25 years. Still shooting well, though, and I will be shooting hand loaded 180 grain Nosler Partition bullets, so if I don't bring home any meat it will only be my own fault :whistling:

Yes, but only for Norwegian Pygmy elephants :whistling:

It is actually a very good caliber for general antelope (Bok) hunting in Africa, but I certainly would not even think about using it on an elephant. If I should ever be so lucky I would not use anything smaller than a caliber which starts with a "4", such as a .416, or even better still a .458

OK, enough writing... I'm off to pack my bags and give the rifle a last tender cleaning before going to bed real early...

Talk to you all on Monday (I hope...)
