    Hi Henk,
    Welcome to MASA!
You will find that all the okes here are really very helpful, and that you can really learn allot from this bunch!

It might help if post in the "soutie taal" as allot of the guys here is English.

You say that you've started two weeks ago, and you already have fish in it?
    Ouch...
That is not a very good idea for a couple of reasons.
I think it's best if you first read in posts in the beginner discussion forum.
As there you will find allot of your answers on filtration, the Nitrogen cycle, water changes - et cetera.
But please feel free to post any questions (I'll let the experts answer it...;))

    Hello and Welcome

two weeks and 4 fish... sjoe...
you better check the water parameters. You should have ammoniac problems
Well you have the 3 clowns. Maybe bigger water changes twice a week for next 2 months could help to keep it down. Until the bacteria load caught up and can dispose of the rubbish. Do you have live rock? And in what state is it in?

A crab, most likely not reef safe. Post a picture of it for comments.

And yes, there are a lot of oversea's members and visitors. That is why we keep it English.

Lastly, were in SA are you?

    welcome to MASA

unfortunately you simply can not keep 3 clowns in a tank that size ..... i have a 550L tank and world war 3 started when i temporarily have 4 clowns in the tank, strongly reccomment you tank one back to the pet shop or try sell it on the forum, how big it is and what type?

Welcome to MASA Henk, glad you joined us - although it's a wee bit too late seeing that you have fish in a 2 week old tank already :(
Anyway, lets get some more info.

Is it a new tank with new sand and rock?
Is it live rock or bio-rock?
Can you post a picture for us?

When a tank is set up from scratch, it will need to cycle with live rock only for about 6 - 8 weeks. During this time the ammonia will go up and will then get converted into nitrites by bacteria, which will then turn the nitrites into nitrates. Inside the liverock there are anaerobic bacteria that turns the nitrates into harmless nitrogen. This is called the nitrogen cycle - there are obviously more to it, but I just gave you a quick guide in steps.

You see, ammonia is toxic to fish and can kill them, so is nitrites - that is why we need to wait so long before adding any fish. The tank must finnish the cycle first, and only after testing the water for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates can livestock be added - if the tests are 0.

Clown fish are also very territorial and will kill each other, so 3 in a small tank is a no go :nono:
Take one out and make sure the other two are of the same species - they will pair up ;)

Please read the link in my signature for some great info - also on the topping up of evapourated water. And please don't use tap water for the salt mix - only reverse osmosis water, otherwise you'll have endless algae problems.

I'm also afrikaans Henk, so if you don't understand something, send me a private message (PM) and I'll see if I can help you :)

    Good luck :wave2:

OK, so at least it's not completely from scratch. See if you can remove one clown and sell to someone else or take back to LFS.
Sera is not the best test kits in my opinion, but make sure that it hasn't expired yet.

With what do you top up the water that evapourates?

    Ja swaer... WELKOM by MASA.

As previously stated by Raven, we normally communicate in English so that all the non South African members can understand as well.

Agreed - that is WAY too quick. Do some reading about cycling a tank, and you will soon understand why...
