Hi everyone, some of you might remember me from a couple of years ago.

I’ve decided to take the plunge and get back into the reefing scene.

I picked up a nice all in one system that I think is based on the design of the Innovative Marine tanks.

The total dimensions are 60x35x34 with the display dimensions begin 60x25x34.

This gives me a nett water volume of 50 liters.

The plan is to keep it rather simple with just euphyllia coral and maybe the odd zoa.

I need some recommendations for fish since I can’t seem to make up my mind. I do know that clown fish are not an option for this tank.

The equipment list is as follows:
- zetlight marine space bars x 2
- bubble magus qq1 skimmer
- Sobo WP-3500 return pumps x 2
- Sobo 50watt heater on a STC1000 controller
- Reef octopus ato

For filtration I’ll rely on seachem matrix stones, the skimmer and at a later stage some purigen once the bioload has increased a bit.

The rocks and aragonite have been cycled from early January with some Seachem Stability. I’ll keep dosing the maintenance dose for the next couple of months.

I’ve started with Seachem Vibrant sea salt and RODI water.

The aquascape is pretty basic but it gives me a lot of placement options for coral. I hope that the coral will add some depth to the aquascape. There are a lot of little nooks and crannies for nano fish to use as sleeping spots and burrows.

The tank was filled on 02/02/2022 and has been running smoothly since then.

Parameters at present are:
Alk 8.8dkh
Ca 410 ppm
Mg 1230 ppm
Salinity 35ppt

I picked up me first two frags on 05/02/2022 and they seem to be doing well.

I think that’s it. I look forward to sharing the progress of this little nano with you.

The tank at 17 days

Parameters have been nice and stable.

Alk 8.75
Ca 435
Mg 1250
Sg 35 ppt

Currently have 3 hammer frags and a kenya tree frag.

It’s been a challenge to get fish in PE but hopefully the shipments starts coming in around the end of Feb.

Just over a month in. Progressing pretty well.

Added a tailspot blenny that’s getting nice and fat.

Life has been a bit busy.

Tank is doing pretty well. Just over 3 months now and settling in well.

No new corals, but I added a purple firefish and a yellow watchman goby.

Unfortunately the goby was lost due to carpet surfing.

A new toy arrived today.

Thank you for the great service @Anita.

Now to play around with it and to see what it can do.

Just a quick update.

The tank has been running smoothly with no major hicups.

I've added a nice frogspawn that seems to be settling well.

Unfortunately I lost my purple firefish due to carpet surfing. Found the only open space in my lid and went through it. I suspect the loadshedding changed my lighting schedule and he/she got a fright when the lights came on at an odd time.

Looking at either getting two clowns or perhaps two bengaii cardinals. These guys don't like to participate in high jump.:m16:
