ok so i finally decided to ask for help. a bit late i know. i got myself to blue mandarins a while ago. my dad was looking after my fish for me while i was away. i returned on sunday to find them covered in white slime stuff. sorry the pics are crap. if its what i think it was, its the same thing that wiped out my last 2 mandarins aswell as all my live stock 3 months ago... all help will be appreciated

    thanks.

oh and i high doubt that my QT tank is "correct", so ya...please help:blush:
my QT basically is a small tank with a hang on filter thing and a heater. it was my ''DT'' as such untill i got my current tank

Ok first thing what is he eating if at all?
Secondly is he breathing rapidly ? Where did the water cone from for you qt?
Did the other lifestock have the same white slime?

If so, get a test kit, loose the sand and rock and get some pvc piping.
Substrate and rock is not fun in a tank is you have to do treatments and can also harbour
    Bad parasites etc.

I think you should look at cupramine and a coper test kit. Dpending on you answers, i suspect velvet?

i suspected veltet as well... both my mandarins have and they eat like pigs. do i really have to remove the substrate? :( the mandarins actually seem perfectly healthy to me, no unusual behavour, just the slime

DO they have the slime 24hrs or is it gone by 10am or so, they form a slime coat to protect them selves and when they bury into the sand, maybe wrong here, my psychedelic also form a slime coat at night and is gone by 9 to 10 when the MH is on

Rob I have used it, saved my clown for sure, was too late for a bi colour blenny. Rob don't procrastinate your fish is suffering. Skimmer off for 10 days. So no need to upgrade in the next 10 days.

What are you feeding the mandarins? Looks a bit thin in the pic.

It rocks as an immuno stimulant and helps with healing and building resistance. As far as curing diseases I would not rely on it as I have lost MANY fish with this option.

Rob, check with your LFS on Monday, if they don't have PM me and I will get some at my local LFS and then ship it to you.
